Squats have always been my nemesis! I had knee surgery in 1987 (WOW! I'm OLD!) to have a benign tumor removed from my knee cap. After the surgery, the physical therapist gave me some exercises to do and said, "Keep doing these for a while." Well, to a 14 year old girl, a while is 2 weeks. Until about 5 years ago, I did not have the strength in my quads to do squats. I have now just started week 4 of this challenge and I am amazed at what I can do! Now, the first week was holy hell, but since then, I am just getting stronger.
Sit-ups are Satan's way of sprinkling evil on our core. Okay, maybe that goes a little far, but I don't like 'em. I am starting this challenge today. I started it last week, but since I broke my arm on Tuesday, I decided to wait another week on this one. So I will be doing this in a few before the kiddos get home.
Dude, how about some wall squats for fun??? Lean your back against a wall and slide down until your legs are in a sitting position-then hold for 30 seconds. Good times.

Hey, I was 26 and a mother already in '87. I'm OLD (lol). Sprinkling evil on our core...lol, but then the angel heals us all up and makes us stronger, right?
ReplyDeleteI did 180 good form squats (not in a row) and 22 sit-ups. I have a long way to go!
ReplyDeleteI still laough out loud every time I come to your blog and see that fruit-man trophy looking at me!
