Candida - And Other Food Sensitivites

So I had my blood drawn on February 15. It took until February 28th for the lab to "run" the blood test, which then took another three weeks to do all of the testing and scoring? Who knows, I just know that I had to overnight my blood and it took forever for them to do something with it!

Anybaldy, I tested between the .200 and .299 range on apple, cabbage, cantaloupe, cheddar cheese, garlic, gluten, milk, rye, soybean, black walnut, wheat and yogurt. I had nothing between the .300 and .399 range. I tested over .400 on cottage cheese (.741), swiss cheese (.519), peanut (.624) baker's yeast (.605), brewer's yeast (.508) and coffee (.860).

What does all of that mean? Well, I am apparently not allergic to eggs anymore (which I had a sneaky suspicion), but what was probably causing me problems when I thought I was allergic to honey was actually the bread, the peanut butter, or the coffee (I had honey in my coffee once). The problem with eggs was probably the yeast in the muffin part of the McMuffin. Who knows, although I did have an allergy test in 2005 telling me that I was allergic to eggs. So, who knows.

Anyway, I haven't had any eggs yet, but I will, oh I will! I also haven't given up all of the other garbage yet. I am still doing more research, but I think I may be giving up my vegan ways. I will still avoid milk (at all costs!), but I might go back to meat. I will definitely be going gluten free and yeast free. I will also avoid coffee like the plague!

Yay me!

  1. I didn't think they could test for food sensitivities with blood work, only allergies. I've wondered if I am sensitive to some things. Might need to look into testing.

  2. They drew 3 giant vials of blood. It was an IgG test. You should look into it. My mother-in-law had the same tests a year ago, has eliminated the sensitive foods and is doing much better!

  3. Yay You indeed. I could never go meat free. Well if life or death depended on it I would consider it.

Thanks for your kind words on my blog; really appreciate your support.

Not sure what you meant by "Alkaline your body", something I need to learn about if that is supposed to help in my battle.

    Have a great weekend!
